The first collisions inside the Large Hadron Collider at CERN (Geneva) will occur sometime in October 2008, which is Tishrei 5769, 2 months after the first beam injections in August 2008 (Tamuz 5768).
I'm curious about anything significant regarding Tishrei of this year.
