Dreams

Postby Bubbyof8 on Sun Oct 25, 2009 8:36 am

Can someone explain a dream I had? Friday night I dreamt that I was on some type of estate. I went outside and there was a lion resting peacefully behind a fence. His head was up and he was alert, but he was relaxed. On the other side of the fence was a large field and some trees. I began to walk through the field and saw a tiger in a tree. Then I saw a leopard in another tree. They both began to chase me. I ran to the fence and tried to climb it, but my foot couldn't grab hold. The tiger and leopard were coming close and then I awoke. My heart was pounding and I felt terrified. Today, at the Shabbos seudah I told my family about my dream. My 20 year old daughter smiled and said, "That's so funny. I had a very similar dream last night!". She said that in her dream she was in a zoo. There was a lion, a leopard and a tiger in a cage. The lion was quiet, but the tiger and leopard were roaring and trying to get out of the cage. Does anyone have any idea what these dreams could possibly mean?

The Book of Daniel associates the leopard with Greece, so I imagine it would not be amiss to assume that it might also be reminiscent of Greece's offspring---the West. And the tiger brings to mind China, who represents the East. The Lion represents Yehuda, the Jews. My interpretation, such as it is, would be that the West and the East are agitated while the Jewish nation is at rest, trusting in Hashem. In our literature, the fence always represents the Torah, so my guess would be that while East and West may be stirring up trouble in the world with their competition for limited resources, the Jews who are in their proper place inside the fence of Torah, will have no reason to fret.

Just what came to mind when I read your description. No guarantees. :-)

Yesterday someone told me personally that he believes moshiach will be here by shavuot and yesterday night in my dream someone else told me that moshiach will be here soon.

both were friends i haven't seen in a long time. the 1st one was guessing (the 2nd said not 'in' shavuot but 'by' shavuot) and the 2nd if i remember well seemed to confirm , or reassure me that it's true moshiach will be here soon. Remember, it was just a dream.
