Not to forget that when you give your maaser with regularity and give tzedaka every day, first thing in the morning , as much as you can and until it hurts ( because you don't get so much for yourself ); it trains you to look at money in a holy way.
Talking about dollard and golden calf , does someone remember some years ago in NY , that in the Wall street area , there was a display of enormous calf ( kind of colored sculptures ) in the streets . Tourists were use to take pictures of themselves kissing it ! At that time I was already amazed by the symbolic attached to it ...

Wall Street Bull = Golden Calf?

Guest post submitted by Child_of_the_Earth

So yesterday a bunch of Christians gathered at the bronze bull on Wall Street in New York City and began praying for our economy. This made me start thinking...and I mean this in the most non-offensive way possible...but how many Christians really read the Bible? Because this really reminds me of that story from the Book of Exodus...you know, the one about the golden calf?

Maybe they thought this was different enough to be okay. Maybe they didn't know that story. Or maybe they just didn't care. Honestly, I don't care, I think it's a nice gesture to pray for our economy I suppose...but I'm not x*tian, so that story doesn't apply to me.

So what do you think? Is this different enough that it's alright? Is it blasphemy? Do the intentions count more than the actions?

I fail to see how praying outside Wall Street will help the economy.
They are the guilty greedy culprits who are responsible for the crash, the robbing of the pension funds, the ones who transferred most manufacturing to Asia, etc, etc, etc.

It is again praying to the golden calf rather than to the Ultimate Creator and Master of Creation.

How true it is when one puts his faith in man rather than in God. He gets his due reward; not what he truly seek!

As you give tzedaka for the needy , pray Hashem that we'll be given an abondance of Brahot for all we need .
As you give tzedaka for establishing or supporting a mikveh , pray Hashem we should be standing in front of HIS " eyes " with no blemish .
As you give tzedaka for helping jews to get married , pray Hashem HE will marry us in joy and peace .
What is done here on this earth, creates an interface in the world of truth ...
