"water" and "fire" are both part of the "Antarctic glaciers surge to ocean" article I posted.

Do you think this is part of the process?

The letters shin, mem + (mem sofit), and finally nun are interesting as I read the above posts.

shin: change within the changeless

mem + (mem sofit): echad (one) + ahavah (love) = 13

nun: selfless self consciousness

And the little one, who thinks World War III will begin on Hoshana Raba, said that no Jew would be scared. I asked him "what about aunt *** or grandma ***" (who are not-yet religious) and he said they wouldn't be scared either. So I asked "how can that be?" He replied "it just is."

:)

Recall what Eli said, about 2 1/2 years ago:
A flood of water will go all the way up above all the buildings. Jews (including non-religious Jews) and righteous non-Jews will float up and up on the water to shomayim (Heaven). "The water will be a mikvah (spiritual cleansing) to clean out our tamei (sic) from all the tamei (impure) things we did." This will take away our yetzer hara (evil inclination). While we are visiting the highest levels of shomayim, the water will receed. Then "the Jews will come down in a single parachute", landing in Eretz Yisrael, then suddenly "each of us will be back in our place, like magic." We will remember everything we saw. This experience will make non-religious Jews want to do "half" the mitzvos when they come back down. The "holy fire" (below) will make them do the other half, as well.

There will be "holy fire" that will make righteous gentiles want to convert ("their last chance to convert before Moshiach") Those righteous gentiles who don't want to convert will be "forced" to convert by the "holy fire".

This "holy fire" will also "force" all non-observant Jews to accept the mitzvos of the Torah.

My comments: In Chassidus, "water" is a metaphor for ahavas (love of) Hashem, and "fire" is a metaphor for yiras (fear/awe of) Hashem. A flood of water is a flood of the "ahava mesuteres" (hidden love) that every Jewish neshoma possesses by its nature, which brings to tshuva m'ahava (the expansive repentence from love, not the selfish repentance from fear). Love of Hashem is the source of "half the mitzvos" (the positive mitzvos are all contained within "I am Hashem your G-d") and fear/awe of Hashem is the source of the other "half" (the negative mitzvos, contained within the statement "You shall have no other gods before Me").

All Jews will have Yiras Shomayim (fear of Heaven), no matter how much or how little Torah they know. Even Jews who live far away from any Jewish community will experience this. "They will be protected also." Jews and righteous gentiles will know that this is Moshiach and will have no fear, even if they are ignorant of Torah. We will be happy and excited the whole time, beginning with "Erev Moshiach"

water=the revealed part of tora
fire=the hidden part of tora
maybe with the whole tora we will be completely pure?

We are taught that everything that is above is below. If you remember your high school chemistry, you know that water and fire is contained within the water itself. Water is made up of hydrogen and oxygen (H2O). If you look at the atomic weight of Hydrogen, which is 1+1, and oxygen=16, you have 2+16=18.

So, water is truly Mayim Chayim. Water contains the source of life and the source of air, and the source of fire.

To be continued...

water + fire = shamayim

As his vessels become more purified, one begins to contact and integrate the essential unity of Creation as revealed by G-d, the Source of all perfection. As Israel increases its longing for Torah, love of the People and its devotion to the Land, the "air" of the world is purified. When the essential entities of wholeness--Torah, the People and the Land of Israel--are transformed from individual flames into a unified, fiery torch of love for G-d, then His compassion will be aroused to such an extent that the world will be flooded by the knowledge of G-d "as the waters cover the seas."

The flaming desire to experience the Oneness of G-d from below, draws down a waterfall of love from above. The integration of fire and water is the essence of "heaven," shamayim, a combination of the words for "fire" esh, and "water" mayim. Heaven must be brought down to earth and spirituality must be integrated with physical reality. Every thought, speech and action that unites both aspects helps prepare the world for its ultimate redemption. May we all actualize our individual spark of Mashiach and become leaders in our own right, thereby fulfilling our holy mission in life.
