What do we know about this mitzvah? Who are narizim today?

Looks like this topic didn't attract any attention...
But there are at least 7 nazirim in Israel and I had a privilege to have a copy of a interview with one of them who visited New York this past May. Nazir Elkanah Eliav from Jerusalem.
