This is a good question.

The answer is that "knowing" something means that we can understand it according to our limited human intellect. The answer can be found in book.

The real test and this is the test that leads to Moshiach, is above the seichel intellect. IT is Lemallah Mi Taam VeDaas. There is no way to figure it out with logic, and the person has to look inside himself to turn one way or the other with emunah. Emunah only exists where there is no da'as and seichel.

Deep within yourself you know which way to go. After all, you are a Yid!

the way to pass this test is to stop thinking and or to quit asking questions. We know Hashem will protect every Jew because His word and the Rebbe's words are "steel" . The way He'll do this is NOT our problem. Chazal told us that the nissim we'll experience will be even greater than the nissim of yetziat mitzrayim. What else can we ask for ?!
