"Messianic Fantasies"

Here's the latest from HaRav Ariel Bar Tzadok.

This new article opposes the philosophy of some Rebbe's. I am not being specific on which rebbe(s) but after reading it, you can decide who he is referring to. The messages on this forum from a specific rebbe and R. Bar Tzadok's message are contradictory to one another.

In case you don't want to read the entire article, I'm highlighting in bold the points that contradict some previously discussed topics.

Any thoughts?

Also, ideas on the second to last bold item would be appreciated.

With all due respect , this Rabbi is completely wrong. The reason he is wrong is very simple. He did not even entertain the possibility that it will not be as he imagines, even though there are a myriad of sources that describe the redemption in a completely miraculous, happy fashion for the Jewish nation. Lets not debate we are Zachu or Lo Zachu , but if you dont even say that it is possible we are Zachu and that Zachu means we will go on clouds of glory you are not speaking Torah. Furthermore, "As in the days of your going out of egypt I will show you wonders" . Ask yourself this question , do you think the Jews coming out of egypt were terrified or elated? The answer probably is both. Those that believed in Moshe were eleated , those that thought they were on there way to doom were probably Terrified. And of course in the end everyone was elated because Moshe was emes and the Moshe of our generation is emes.

From your midst implies that prophesy would be limited only to Eretz Yisrael.

its so sad that the coming of Moshiach the event that all Jews await for every day has to be put in negative light by these so called Rabbis.
The Rebbe is and always will be right on every single issues in judaism.

There are different levels of divine revelation of which prophecy is the highest one. Whereas prophecy might have disappeared for a long time after the destruction of the beit hamikdash, Ruach HaKodesh and Bat Kol (lower forms of prophecy) have not completely disappeared and the Torah (as wel as the Rebbe) also tells us (in Joel?) that before Moshiach's revelation nevua, real prophecy, will return to Am Yisrael. The Torah in Deut. defines who's a real prophet and who's a false prophet.

All those who support the autistics' website should review the definition (Sefer HaMitvot HaKatzar, Chofetz Chaim) of the following negative mitzva: "nor shall you conjure", "velo teonenu" in Hebrew. (Va-yikra 19:26)
Also, it's a negative mitzva not to prophesy falsehood in the name of Hashem: "But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My Name which I have not commanded him to speak [etc.] " (D'varim 18:20)

Now, I don't know exactly what Hashem has told or not the autistics but, I've never heard or read any official declaration that they are real prophets !!

My response to you had nothing to do with the autistics. I am not from that camp. As a matter of fact, I think they are being exploited.

I was quoting commentary directly from the Chumash.

Stov, I know that you quoted from the chumash. My last comment was destined partly to you and partly to everyone else who reads this.

Yes it is. There are concepts on his site that aren't mainstream but are very cutting edge. He's a kabbalist and discusses topics based on his own agenda. The only reason why it doesn't seem 'kosher' to you is because you are not versed in his teachings and probably have never heard of most of the concepts he discusses.

Just curious if you don't mind, what's your educational background that enables you to be so well versed in Torah that you can make the above statement?

Thanks Yehuda, I would also like to know if other people think it's kosher.... he's not included on the 4Torah.com site.

I don't want to be seen as writing loshon hora about the Kosher Torah site, so I apologise if I've given that impression. I am seriously asking here, is it an accepted kosher site?

It's not exactly a question of "kosher". With the site and the statements of the Rabbi there are serious issues. (For this reason there are no links to the site on Yiddishkeit.org.)

It is not worth the effort to refute bizarre science-fiction influenced visions; suffice to say that one should politely look elsewhere for enlightenment. For example, accurate translations of kabbalistic works can be found at kabbalaonline.org
